Working Principle

The working principle of Bio Safety Cabinet is very unique and complicated as the different Class & Models have different working principle. There are three Class of Bio Safety Cabinets Class I, Class II & Class III. There are also different models under the different Class according to its capability to offer protection as well as size, material and specification of Bio Safety Cabinet

  • Class I Bio Safety Cabinets offers protection to environment and personal. It sucks the room air and exhaust the clean air with the HEPA filter. As the exhaust air is filtered and clean it helps maintaining the environment. Class I Bio Safety Cabinets are good when working with low to moderate risk agents. It is also used to enclose small scale lab equipment like fermenters, centrifuges. It is also used when the particular process is generating aerosols like tissue homogenization.
  • Class II Bio Safety Cabinets are the most highly used in research, clinical and microbiology laboratories. In Class II there are four different models A1, A2, B1 & B2 according to exhaust and air recirculation criteria.
    Bio Safety Cabinet Class II A1 model exhaust 70% air and recirculates 30% air. Its minimum inward face velocity is 75 fpm. It offers personal and environment protection.
    Bio Safety Cabinet Class II A2 model exhaust 70% air and recirculates 30% air. Its minimum inward face velocity is 100 fpm. It offers personal, product and environment protection. This model is the most common and widely used in industry according to MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Bio Safety Cabinet Class II B1 model exhaust 30% air and recirculates 70% air. Its minimum inward face velocity is 100 fpm. It offers personal, product and environment protection. The exhaust is connected to a duct which helps flush the air outside of the laboratory. Bio Safety Cabinet Class II B2 model exhaust 100% air and does not recirculates air. Its minimum inward face velocity is 100 fpm. It offers personal, product and environment protection. The exhaust is connected to a duct which helps flush the air outside of the laboratory.
  • Class III Bio Safety Cabinets offers the highest possible level of safety for personal, product and environment. It’s completely enclosed system which is a leak proof. It has transfer chamber also known as pass box to facilitate material transfer to and from bio safety cabinet. This particular model is also known as Glove Type Bio Safety Cabinet. Class III Bio Safety Cabinet is highly used in Pharmaceutical Industry.

Where standalone model is mounted on a castor wheel structure for easy mobility and bench top model can be placed on any existing working platform. We have four option in width of bio safety cabinet which comes in 3, 4, 5 and 6 feet models. All models comes with wrist rest for easy operation.

Brinda Pharma Technoliges manufactures all Bio Safety Cabinet models in two control configuration. One is normal microprocessor based control system which is minimal and cost effective. Another one is advance HMI based Touch Screen System where user can monitor and operate the Bio Safety Cabinet from the Touch Screen interface which makes it easier to use.

Brinda Pharma Technologies manufactures all Bio Safety Cabinet in various combination of materials like Galvanized Iron powder coated, Stainless Steel 304 as well as Stainless Steel 316. The most common model that we sell is Config-1, Where the Internal Contact Parts of the cabinet is made in S.S. 304 and the External Non-Contact Parts is made in Powder Coated Galvanized Iron.
